This year’s edition of the tournament in Las Vegas attracted a lot of attention because the American Lexi Thompson participated, as just the seventh woman in history to play on the PGA Tour. But she did not pass the qualification limit to advance after initial rounds.

Annika Sorenstam was in 2003 the first female player since 1945 to play PGA competition with the men.
