The actor rehearsed the scene with a handgun, which was supposed to have only bang charges. There was a real bullet in the gun.
American actress Alec Baldwin is again accused of manslaughter during the filming of Rust. A New Mexico state court jury decided Friday to indict Baldwin.
The accident happened in October 2021, when Baldwin was practicing using a handgun and pointing a revolver at a photographer Halyna Hutchins towards.
Baldwin fired the gun, which indeed had real bullets instead of bangers. Hutchins and the director were killed by the impact Joel Souza was wounded by a bullet in the shoulder.
Baldwin has been charged for the incident for the second time. Baldwin’s previous charge was dismissed in court in April last year.
Baldwin faces a maximum of one and a half years in prison.
The film crew’s gunsmith, who was responsible for the guns and ammunition during filming, was also charged with manslaughter. His case is scheduled to be heard in court in February.
