Alec Baldwin denies the charges following the fatal shooting during a movie shoot in October 2021. The American Hollywood star’s first formal appearance in court was scheduled for Friday. But by sharing his stance on the allegations in documents filed with the court on Thursday, he will not have to appear.

Baldwin and the person in charge of the shooting, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, are both charged with causing the death of another. The background is that Alec Baldwin fired a weapon during the filming of the western film “Rust”, which turned out to be loaded. The shot struck and killed photographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.
Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison.
