Since 2018, the Uithof on the outskirts of the city has had a Spar where customers scan with their smartphone and pay via a Tikkie. In the new ALDI, sensors automatically register which items the customer places in the shopping cart. When leaving the store, the amount due is automatically debited from the account using a smartphone app linked to a credit card.
