These artists were present en masse in the public gallery of the council chamber this afternoon, during the weekly question time. GroenLinks councilor Pepijn Zwanenberg wanted to know what can still be done about the unrest among the artists who have studios in the building. “The Vlampipeateliers is an important breeding ground in Utrecht where about 75 artists rent studios, some for decades,” Zwanenberg said in the council. “They were always promised that they would be told well in advance how things would proceed.” The sudden cancellation came as a shock to them, and so the councilor wants clarity.
