Despite adapted signs and warning lights, it is still raining fines in the city center of Amersfoort. Last year, more than 40,000 fines were handed out to motorists who entered the car -free center. Alderman Tyas Bijlholt no longer knows how to solve the problem: “I am a bit distraught about what else I can do.”
