ALAVES Amurrio commits to Athletic for four seasons

Amurrio is a club that has traditionally been linked to Athletic but, for five years, has belonged to the structure of Deportivo Alavés. The Aiala Valley club will leave the Albiazul colors for the Rojiblancos starting in June. Thus, it joins other entities from Alava: Olabide, Lakua, Abetxuko, Ipar Arriaga, Laudio, Oyonesa, Etorkizuna and Kaskagorri.

Precisely these last two clubs are, in part, the key to explaining the break with the Paseo de Cervantes entity. The first manages eight teams in benjamines and fry in the town of Amurrio. The Kaskagorri, meanwhile, has five children, cadets and youth. As these clubs controlled the lower categories, Amurrio did not have a created base.

Deportivo Alavés demanded that the blue and white club make teams from lower categories, but they have not succeeded. Nor has it reached an agreement with Etorkizuna or Kaskagorri, and that has been mediated by the Ayales town council. Amurrio has a team in the Third RFEF and another in Regional Alavesa, but lacks a base in initiation categories.

The term given by Alavés to the club from the north of the province has already ended and, although it is not official, there is already an agreement with Ibaigane to re-link with Athletic. The Alava football pyramid project, supported by the Provincial Council, has leaks like this one. There are also agreed clubs, for example, with Real Sociedad and even Eibar in Vitoria.
