Alasaari jumped third and Holttinen fourth in Germany Sports

Juho Alasaari was third and Tommi Holttinen fourth in the pole vault competition held in Zweibrücken, Germany. Both Finns crossed the height of 550.

Alasaari’s season best is 552 in July in Joensuu. In Zweibrücken, he exceeded his starting height of 520 in his third, 540 in his second and 550 in his first. Attempts from height 560 were unsuccessful.

For Holtti, crossing 550 was the best result of the season. He had surpassed 545 before the German competition. In Zweibrücken, Holttinen went both 520 and 540 in his first and 550 in the second, he also failed in his attempts of 560. Holttinen’s record is 564.

The competition was won by a Frenchman who exceeded his record of 580 Robin Emigwho was second in the under-23 European Championships in Espoo last year and 12th in the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Emig improved its record by five cents.
