Alarm of shooting – ambulance on site

A man in his 20s has died after a shooting in Skärholmen on Friday evening, relatives have been informed.
The man was found injured outside and his next of kin have been notified.
– When we arrived at the scene, the person had a serious gunshot wound, the ambulance and doctors performed life-saving measures, says Anna Stålhuvud, press spokesperson at the police.

The alarm about several loud bangs in Skärholmen came in to the police at 18.05. A large number of police patrols and three ambulances were sent to the area. There they found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound. Later that evening, the police announced that he had died from his injuries.

– Several resources were sent to the scene, the person was found outdoors, says Anna Stålhuvud, press spokesperson at the police.

Resident: Heard several bangs

Several residents in Skärholmen testify about how loud bangs were heard in the area before the police and ambulance arrived at the scene.

– Three loud shots were heard around, then an ambulance and police arrived. They set up large cordons and are not letting people into the houses, says a resident in the area.

The police began knocking on doors in the area and set up cordons.

– We are trying to get as much witness information as possible to investigate what happened and see if anyone saw what happened, says Anna Stålhuvud.

Ambulance and doctors tried to save the man’s life when they arrived at the scene, but were unsuccessful. The police write that the deceased is a man in his 20s and that a preliminary investigation into murder has been launched.

At 9 p.m., the police announced that they still had resources at the scene.

– Door knocking has been carried out and the patrols are inside and reporting on the interrogations carried out, says Anna Stålhuvud.

The technicians and some patrols are working on the scene and the police have also called in the image analysis group.

– It is a special resource that will retrieve surveillance footage, says Anna Stålhuvud.

No trace of the perpetrator

In the hunt for the perpetrator, the police searched with dog patrols and set up roadblocks. No one has been arrested and there are no suspects at this time.

– The dog patrols searched but no trace was found, says Anna Stålhuvud.

Several people in the area have been checked by the police and they are now working to map the deceased man and his associates.

– We are also looking at what kind of threat he may have had towards him, says Anna Stålhuvud.
