Several people are suspected of having kept a woman trapped in her own home in Mölndal, south of Gothenburg.

Once in the residence, the police found weapons, drugs and a suspected dangerous object.

The police were alerted to the incident on Friday morning. When they arrived at the scene, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of unlawful detention. But the police’s work did not end there.

During a house search, both drugs and a weapon were found. This led the police to also arrest the woman, who is in her 25s, and another man who was in the apartment.

– They are then arrested on suspicion of weapons offenses and serious drug offences, says police spokesperson Caroline Karlsson.

It later turns out that a suspected dangerous object is also found in the home.

– Then it can be quickly evacuated and bomb technicians get there, and the object is seized, says Caroline Karlsson.

It is still unclear what kind of find it is. According to the police, the object did not require the entire multi-story building to be evacuated.

The police also suspect that more perpetrators may have been involved in the deprivation of liberty of the woman.

– We’ll see how everything fits together after the interrogation and if we can find more perpetrators, says Caroline Karlsson.
