On Saturday night, a 25-year-old man was shot several times inside a restaurant in Midsommarkransen, southern Stockholm.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but his life could not be saved. His next of kin have been notified.
The police were on the scene with a large effort and a helicopter, according to information to Aftonbladet.
– We have resources that work intensively to talk to people who have information to give and we check vehicles and people, said Helena Boström Thomas at the Stockholm Police at an early stage.

At the moment, the police do not know where the perpetrator was when the shots were fired, but the man who was shot was inside the restaurant.

Witnesses: Several shots
Witnesses at the scene say they heard several shots. Pictures that Aftonbladet has seen show that an area adjacent to the restaurant was cordoned off.
A person SVT spoke to was in the restaurant when the shooting took place.
– It was sick, it’s like nothing you’ve experienced before. All of a sudden there were three small bangs and then we dived to the floor. Then we got up when we saw people outside and understood that the danger was over, the witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the channel.
– Everyone who was inside the restaurant was taken out the back way and questioned by the police, the person continues.
Several arrested
The police do not want to comment on whether the killed man is already known to them.
During the evening, the police gave unclear information as to whether anyone had been arrested on suspicion of the crime. Several vehicles were checked and witnesses heard. At 03:00 it was confirmed that “there have been arrests”.

The police have launched a preliminary investigation into suspected murder.
