There is currently scant information about what happened. But the police write on their website that “someone heard a bang and then saw smoke coming from a wooded area adjacent to the institution”.
Whether an explosion has occurred is unclear, the police state that they received the case as a fire alarm.
– There is no information at the moment about any personal injuries or that there would be a fire anywhere at the moment, says police spokesperson Fredrik Svedemyr.
Furthermore, the police state that the road near the Högsboanstalten has been closed to traffic so that the police and emergency services can work at the scene.
