Blue Mountain State revolves around the fictional university of the same name in the middle west of the United States and its football team, the Mountain Goats. The series focuses on three new students who have to find their way around sports, parties and love affairs with life on college. From 2010 to 2011, Ritchson slipped into the role of Kevin “Thad” Castle, who led the Mountain Goats team as a quarterback in three seasons.
In 2016, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland followed a sequel to the series as a film in which Ritchson and his co-stars returned in Brooks and Chris Romano.
