After a difficult youth, Alain Delon ended up in film by chance
Delon, born in 1935, had an unsettled childhood. When he was four, his parents separated, which resulted in him moving between his mother’s and father’s homes, foster families and boarding schools. Delon was considered a difficult child and this continued into his youth, up to his military service during the Indochina War.
