Al Jazeera: reporter and cameraman killed in Israeli strike in Gaza | News in brief

The news channel Al Jazeera says that its reporter and cameraman died on Wednesday after Israel struck the western side of Gaza City.

Reporter of the Qatari news channel Al Jazeera Ismail al-Ghoul and this cameraman Ramy El Rify have died in Gaza as a result of an Israeli strike, Al Jazeera tells.

According to preliminary information, media workers were killed in an attack on a car near the Aidia area, which is located west of Gaza City, on Wednesday.

Colleague of Al-Ghoul and El Rify Anas Al-Sharif says that the duo was filming a Hamas leader at the time of the attack to Ismail Haniyeh near the house. Haniyeh was assassinated early Wednesday in Tehran, Iran. Hamas has blamed Israel for the murder, which in turn has not commented on the matter.

According to the media office of the Hamas-run Gaza government, 165 Palestinian journalists have died in Gaza since October 7, including Wednesday’s deaths.
