Sweden’s Metalliitto has demanded that the American company Tesla follow the Nordic practice of collective agreements agreed by trade unions.
Both have already announced that they will go on a support strike Norwegian and Danish transport trade unions. Now also the Finnish car and transport workers union AKP has received a request for support from Sweden.
The AKT board meets at 5 pm to decide on support measures.
The problem is that Tesla is not willing to comply with sector-specific collective agreements, but wants to agree on working conditions with each employee separately.
IF Metall, which represents workers in Swedish car repair shops, started a strike at Tesla repair shops in seven cities at the end of October.
Several Swedish trade unions have joined the Tesla strike since October, such as loaders, the union of electricians, painters and two unions of distribution companies.
