SD leader Jimmie Åkesson comments on X that the fall of the Assad regime is now being celebrated by people in Sweden.
“You should see this as a good opportunity to go home,” he writes.
He also wants to see the residence permits reconsidered for those who have chosen to move from Syria to Sweden.
“New situations also require new assessments,” he writes, adding that he will also raise the issue of tighter ID checks with the government to strengthen the Swedish border in the event of a potential wave of refugees.
