Akaa-Volley’s euro sky is over | Sports in a nutshell

Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon eliminated Akaa-Volley from the continuation of the men’s volleyball Challenge cup.

Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon did not let Akaa-Volley surprise them in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Challenge Cup, but won the match directly 3–0 (25–22, 25–16, 25–21).

Sporting had won the opening match in Akaa 3–1, so it advanced to the top eight with a combined score of 6–1.

Petteri Tyynismaa was Akaa’s best scorer with eight points. Sporting’s best players were the Venezuelan chipper Edson Valencia Gonzalez and the Czech pier Jan Galabov.

Sporting Lisbon will face Belgian Decospan Menen in the quarterfinals. Akseli Lankinen plays Menen’s sidekick.
