Saara Keskitalo clocked 13:21 in Ostrava.
A hurdler Saara Keskitalon season ended with second place in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Ostrava International Competitions in the Czech Republic on Tuesday. Keskitalo clocked a time of 13.21, the reigning Norwegian champion of the Nordic countries ran to victory Lovise Skarbövik Andresen at 13.16.
– It was the last race of the season. The time was good considering that something happened on the initial smooth and the pace died completely. The next three fence intervals had to be accelerated again, Keskitalo said in the press release.
Keskitalo, 24, broke 13 seconds for the first time this year after running 12.84, the fifth best result in Finland’s all-time statistics in July. In June, he was third in the Kaleva Games.
– It was great that the season was almost a success. It is also important that my base level accelerated. Now we know what the coach (Mikael Ylöstalo) must be done with for the next season, Keskitalo described.
