The Gaza Strip is one of the world’s most densely populated areas with its 2.3 million inhabitants, 80 percent of whom are dependent on humanitarian aid, according to the United Nations Organization for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Around half of the adult population is unemployed and 60 percent live below the poverty line.
Now the Gaza Strip has once again found itself in the firing line in the conflict between the terrorist organization Hamas and Israel.
The number of dead Israelis has now passed 1,000 after the terror-labeled Hamas attack this weekend, according to Israel’s embassy in the United States. The Prime Minister of Israel has announced a “total blockade” of Gaza – which means that no water, electricity, food or fuel moves across the border.
