It was around 11:35 in the morning that United Airlines Flight 35 took off from the tarmac headed for Osaka in Japan.
However, when it came time to fold in the landing gear, things went wrong. One of the wheels with associated parts fell off. The wheel fell onto one of the airport’s employee parking lots, where it caused a lot of damage, reports ABC7 Bay Area.

“Had crushed someone like a grape”
– At the speed and speed it came down, it would have crushed someone like a grape, says Gary Glass, who saw the tire fog down while driving near the airport.
According to Glass, the tire bounced several times. First, the wheel crushed a silver Toyota Corolla, which was largely crushed, then bounced on and pushed into the roof of a red Tesla.
Considering how much damage the cars took from the wheel, it is indeed lucky that no one was hurt.b
According to Air Canada, the wheel on the current aircraft model, a Boeing 777, is a whopping 1.35 meters in diameter, with a weight of around 120 kilograms.

No danger to the passengers
After the wheel fell off, United Flight 35 aborted its journey to Japan, and changed course to Los Angeles to make an emergency landing.
There were a total of 249 people on board, of which 235 were passengers, 10 cabin crew members, and four pilots.
According to United, the fact that one of the six tires on the port landing gear was missing does not constitute a safety problem, as the Boeing 777 aircraft model is designed to be able to land with one tire damaged or missing.
The emergency landing in Los Angeles should not have been overly dramatic.
