Carl-Erik Andersson and his wife sat on the veranda and looked out at the lake.
Then a plane crashed into the water.
– It is not a normal event, he states.
On Saturday evening, Carl-Erik Andersson, 53, and his wife Liv had enjoyed a dinner and they sat on the balcony in Grängesberg, Ljusnarsberg municipality.
It usually happens that planes land in lake Södra Hörken there.
– It’s not that unusual, it happens from time to time, says Carl-Erik.
“Knocked down”
When he then saw that a plane was coming down, at around 19.40, he alerted his wife about this.
– I said “look, a plane is coming”. So she turned and saw it too.
What they got to see was, as Carl-Erik himself says, no normal landing about 300, 400 meters away.
– It seemed that they tried to rise again, but then there was a 90-degree turn, you could say. Then it went down towards the surface of the water and struck down with the plane’s left wing.
– It hit me hard. It wasn’t like it was thrown around in any way. But it came to a screeching halt.

Carl-Erik immediately called 112 while the wife ran over to the neighbors who immediately got into the boat to go out to the airplane.
Several other private individuals also went over to the aircraft by boat before the emergency services arrived on the scene.
The two people on board the plane, two men aged 35 according to the police, were able to get out of the plane and sit on the wings by themselves.
They were physically unharmed but shocked.
– Talk about guardian angels, says Nicole Chabo, team leader at SOS alarm.
“Not a normal event”
For Carl-Erik Andersson and his wife, it was a matter of course to act as soon as possible.
– The first thing you immediately think of is that they may be injured and you think of drowning and so on.
Was that shocking to you?
– It’s shocking to take in. But it’s not a normal event. It was surprising. And you react as quickly as possible when you see an accident.
A recovery of the aircraft began after 21 in the evening, according to the police.
