The hot 08 derby between arch-rivals Djurgården and AIK started as a crowd party but ended as something completely different. It was in connection with Marcus Danielson lead goal for Dif as emotions began to swell but it would all get so much worse in the closing stages of the match.
Chaos in the derby
In a situation where the AIK player Axel Björnström got a red card, the players on the pitch started pushing each other and the emotions spread to the stands. Bengals were thrown onto the field forcing the players to leave the field and the police came in instead to deal with the situation.

Afterwards, spectators also tried to enter the field and fights broke out between the fans and the police. Everything degenerated into horrible scenes that no football lover appreciated.
– These are terrible scenes. There is a fire inside the Tele 2 arena, said the Discovery presenter Tommy Åström in the broadcast.
– I’m almost crying in my throat, answered the TV expert Pär Hansson.

Strömstedt angry
A lot has been said about the terrible things that took place but the artist and the AIK supporter Niklas Strömstedt is one of many who are pissed off after the match. He goes strong against his own favorite team’s fans and puts his foot down properly.
“Damn fools! Identify and shut them down for life!”, writes Strömstedt on Twitter.

The angry post has received a lot of attention on social media where many agree with him. After an hour’s break due to the chaos, the Stockholm derby could then be completed and played.

Djurgården eventually won 1-0 and took a long-awaited derby victory at home on Tele 2. While the crisis for AIK in the Allsvenskan became significantly deeper.
