The European Union and the United States announced, this Wednesday, May 31, a draft common “code of conduct” on artificial intelligence (AI), which would apply on a voluntary basis to the sector, at a time when the large powers work on regulation.
“In the next few weeks, we will present a draft code of conduct on artificial intelligence”, declared the European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager, during a joint press conference with the head of the American diplomacy Antony Blinken .
It will be a question of “establishing voluntary codes of conduct which would be open to all countries sharing the same ideas”, specified the latter, at a time when Westerners fear to let China give the lead on regulation.
