Ahmed was tricked into buying a house in Sweden – gets the money back after the verdict

Last summer we told you about Ahmed Salem from Egypt who was lured to buy a house in Undrom outside Sollefteå in the belief that it would give him a residence permit in Sweden.

But it quickly became clear to him that the rules for residence permits look completely different, and he then wanted to cancel the purchase and save his invested savings. But the company Sweden for investment, with which he did business, refused.

Initiated legal process

Ahmed reported the company to the police for fraud and also started a civil process with the help of a Swedish law firm.

Now the Ystad district court has ruled in Ahmed’s favor. The company and one of its representatives – a woman in her thirties from Tomelilla – are ordered to pay close to two hundred thousand kroner to Ahmed and also pay his legal costs.

The company representative denies having committed any wrongdoing but never came to the trial and therefore the district court announced a so-called default judgment. She now has until December 11 to demand that the district court take up the case again.

House sales continue

At the same time, the company continues its operations and SVT Västernorrland’s review also shows that the female employee can also be linked to a new company: Sweden Capital group. That company conducts the same type of business with similar marketing. They too are aimed at an Arabic-speaking clientele.
