On Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a joint press conference after meeting in Brussels to discuss Sweden’s NATO application. During the day, Magdalena Andersson held new talks with Turkish President Erdogan. According to Andersson, the talks were “good and constructive”. – Our attitude to the PKK is crystal clear: it is a terrorist organization in the eyes of the EU and Sweden, said Magdalena Andersson. Andersson and Stoltenberg met ahead of the Defense Alliance summit in Madrid on Tuesday, where Andersson, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet. The summit will include the issue of Swedish and Finnish NATO membership. – We are now working together on an agreement between Sweden, Finland and our ally Turkey to further address security issues regarding arms exports and the fight against terrorism, Jens Stoltenberg said during the press conference.
