The agricultural show opens its doors on Saturday February 26, 2024 in a context of tensions between farmers and the executive. For the first day of the show, President Emmanuel Macron wanted to organize a debate with the agricultural world. However, the FNSEA, the main union in the profession, refuses to participate due to the announced participation of the association Les insurrections de la terre, considered extremist and violent, by some.
Faced with the FNSEA’s refusal to take part in the debate, the Élysée admits a communication “error” and affirms that the ecological organization was not invited to participate in the event.
