She knows the area around IJsselstein well, she says. “So I was once born in De Meern, actually at the back of Strijkviertel.” The rural area of IJsselstein borders where she grew up. Her uncle also worked for a long time as a school principal in IJsselstein. But when she said that during the introduction to the faction leaders, it did not ring a bell with everyone. “If he stopped in 1988, I wouldn’t have been born yet, some said. I share a slightly longer history,” she says, laughing.
