Karin Wistrand Lolita Pop
Karin Wistrand broke through as a singer in the rock band Lolita Pop, which started in Örebro in 1979 and was active until 1992. Lolita Pop was one of the most popular rock bands in the 80s, and the members of the band were none other than Benkt Svensson (today Söderberg), Stone Booberg, Thomas Johansson, Per Eriksson (today Stahlberg), Peter Olsen, Henrik Melin and Christer Björklund. The band split up when several of the members started having families. In an interview in Aftonbladet, Karin Wistrand talked about her feelings about Lolita Pop.
– It is something I am proud of. I think our music sounded the way it did because we had blinders on, we were very steeped in Television and New York rock. And we had a special energy, that’s right, she said the newspaper.
In 2019, which was 40 years after the band started, they chose to make a temporary comeback.
