Janne Schaffer was born, as previously mentioned, in Stockholm on September 24, 1945, to the name Jan Erik Tage Schaffer.
“I belong to the illustrious group of ‘original Stockholmers’, that is, Stockholmers in the third generation,” he writes on his homepage.
That he became interested in music is not surprising. It has been with him since childhood, and probably also in his blood. He grew up in a musical home with a mother, Berit Fåhraeuswho was a trained piano teacher and father, Take Schafferwho played the violin – both graduated from the Academy of Music in Stockholm.

The 1970s were, in many ways, very successful years for Janne Schaffer. But on a private level, it was a very tough time for Schaffer and his family. His brother, Bo Schaffersuffered from mental illness – something that eventually took his life.

– The plastered house is 162 square meters and built in 1936. The plot of 1,300 square meters has a lot of apple trees, a pear tree and cherry trees.
