In November 2024, Expressen made a major disclosure regarding serious security flaws at the authority.
“Expressen can today reveal how Director General Susanne Ås Sivborg received warnings for several years that defense secrets and protected personal data were at risk of being leaked. The authority’s own head of security protection urged her to shut down as early as 2023 – to no avail,” writes The Express.
Lantmäteriet’s archive with classified information must therefore have been open for external actors to take part. This despite the fact that for several years Ås Sivborg has had enough means to know the problem without having done anything about it. The archive was closed in May 2024 and after Expressen’s disclosure, she has been called to a meeting with the Minister of Infrastructure Andreas Carlson (KD).
“I will summon the director general of the Land Survey to get an account of the authority’s handling of disclosure issues for the time before spring 2024,” Carlson announces for Expressen.
Ås Sivborg himself, however, believes that sensitive information should not have been leaked.
“The Land Survey has not found anything that confirms that classified information has been disclosed. However, we found in May 2024 that there was classified information available in the authority’s digital services,” she tells Expressen.
