For born Zwollenaar Ron Jans, the bus ride on Saturday will be a trip to familiar terrain. “Utrecht has the Dom, Zwolle the Peperbus. Eighty meters high,” says the Utrecht trainer. “I think that’s great that you drive past your birthplace.” Yet the Zwolle feeling for Jans has disappeared a bit. “It never completely leaves, but I left at the age of 23 from Zwolle. In fact, I was mainly a northern person with an occasional trip abroad. I am a bit magnifying, drowned. Whatever you call it.”
