Aftonbladet stops AI companies from collecting information from the newspaper’s website, reports Sveriges Radio.

– We kind of want to have control over our journalism, says Aftonbladet’s product manager Moa Gårdh to the radio and continues:

– We judge that we have little to gain by giving away our content. Since Open AI and also other companies that have chatbots like this are not transparent about how they use our content, we have chosen to take proactive measures.

Open AI is the company behind Chat GPT, the service that kicked off the AI boom in earnest about a year ago.

Aftonbladet is not the only media organization that recently prevented AI companies from accessing their content. The New York Times, CNN, Bloomberg, Reuters and The Atlantic have also taken similar measures, reports Business Insider.
