The transformer in the polder near Eemdijk survived the natural disaster and continued to work, but the building around it was destroyed by a fallen tree. For safety reasons, the old power station was subsequently removed, a spokesperson said. A new and larger distribution station will be set up in the coming weeks. The mayor and aldermen of Baarn therefore agreed this week with the sale of a piece of land of 18 square meters for 9,000 euros.
