The growth of grocery delivery services has not been without its challenges. For example, the municipality of Utrecht previously received complaints about flash delivery in the city. The delivery people and so-called darkstores caused resistance among residents. That is why the municipality decided to intervene. This paid off: in 2022, the municipality received 138 complaints about flash delivery, compared to only three last year.
