It was just after midnight on the night of New Year’s Eve that the alarm about the house fire reached blue light staff. Two people were in the home, one of whom had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
The person who had to be taken to hospital was a man in his 30s. He was then arrested on Saturday morning on suspicion of crime.
The man is now being held at Blekinge district court on suspicion of aggravated arson, a crime which, according to the arrest warrant, cannot lead to a lighter sentence than two years in prison.
