New Caledonia’s international airport will reopen starting Monday, local authorities said. The airport has been closed for a month due to the violent unrest in the French Pacific territory.

Seven people died in the riots, which broke out in mid-May when the French National Assembly was set to introduce new rules for which of the island group’s residents are allowed to vote. On May 31, France’s interior minister said the situation was back under control, after President Emmanuel Macron promised not to push through the criticized voting rules.

The airport will now be opened during the day, and in addition the curfew that applied from 6 p.m. will be postponed until 8 p.m.
