53 people, smuggled into the United States, died of heat and thirst after being trapped in a truck in late June.
In Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico, relatives have now begun burying their dead after the tragedy.
After the tragedy, the driver, who is a US citizen, tried to pretend that he was one of the surviving migrants who had been stuck in the truck. According to prosecutors, the man now risks life imprisonment and the death penalty if convicted.
