Before the government’s new legislative proposal was presented, Sweden’s municipalities could submit their views through a consultation round. However, Södertälje municipality chose not to send in a response.
According to Boel Godner (S), chairman of the municipal board in Södertälje, the response time was too short. However, she is skeptical of the proposal.
– It is not something that Södertälje saw as a solution to the problems that exist here, she says.
