The explosion was part of the expansion of the Stockholm subway. But it created an unexpected cannon effect on a protruding metal pipe, which served as an informal garbage can for one or more dog owners.
The bags that were in the pipe were ejected during the explosion and rained down on the street, a car and a nearby apartment building.
The weather stops cleanup
The affected property, located on Vikingagatan, was inspected during the morning on Monday.
– Our project manager and a cleaning company have been there and inspected. Due to the weather they want to wait until it clears up, so hopefully next week. It’s dangerous to go up in a lift when it’s windy, and it’s also not easy to deal with water in sub-zero temperatures, says Emma Sahlman, press officer for the New Subway.
