The police: We are doing everything we can

Magnus Jansson Klarin is a press spokesperson at police region Mitt, which is responsible for Uppsala, among other things. He says the police are working feverishly to investigate and prevent new acts of violence.

– It’s not a fun morning to wake up to. From the police’s side, it is important to continue and do everything we can to prevent events like this with very disastrous consequences.

Many of the acts of violence are said to be aimed at relatives in criminal networks. It is impossible to keep track of everyone, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.

– There are a lot of relatives. We know that some people have left and gone to safety at new addresses. In Uppsala, we have set up a special event where we have the opportunity to move resources, but it is a very strained situation, he says.
