Kevin Costner is at home in the Western genre, as the actor and filmmaker has proven with works such as Dances with Wolves and most recently with the hit series Yellowstone. But for a long time Costner had a project close to his heart that he was involved in Horizon now implemented on a very large scale. His latest western film is set to get a total of four films, for which he fell out with Taylor Sheridan and the Yellowstone production.
The new trailers The Western opener takes us once again to the Wild West of the 19th century and promises a visually stunning screen experience that will shape our summer at the cinema.

In 1861, America is at a crossroads. The white pioneers are spreading across the west of what is now the USA and want to increasingly push out the indigenous Apaches in New Mexico Territory. But the settlers also engage in brutal battles among themselves and disagree on many points. When their father is murdered, the Sykes brothers want to bring the perpetrators to justice. However, the personal conflicts are soon overshadowed by the looming ones Civil War.
Kevin Costner directed Horizon himself and co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Baird. In addition to the Yellowstone star, Sienna Miller (Layer Cake), Sam Worthington (Avatar), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Luke Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums) and Jena Malone (Love Lies Bleeding) are also in the film Western epic to see.
When is Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone replacement Horizon coming to theaters?
The first part of Horizon will be released on August 22, 2024 move into German cinemas. The second part is due on November 7, 2024 consequences. It remains to be seen whether the two other Horizon films planned by Costner will be made.
