After the murder of the 19-year-old woman, the Inspectorate for Care and Care (IVO) initiated two supervisory cases. One against the principal of the accommodation and one against the psychiatric clinic in Enköping.
On Tuesday, the results were presented and, according to the investigation, there were shortcomings.
– It is about the fact that the risks of the patient harming others were not taken into account. However, the accommodation has acted correctly based on the information they received, says Peder Carlsen, head of department (IVO).
New investigation underway
At the same time, IVO has now started a new supervisory case. This time it is the municipality of Enköping that is to be investigated.
– In a case like this, there are several actors involved and everyone needs to be investigated. Therefore, we want to take a closer look at how the municipality has acted, says Peder Carlsen.
SVT has contacted the CEO of the accommodation, who does not want to comment on the investigation. And when we contact Region Uppsala, they want to respond via email.
“We have received IVO’s opinion and take it very seriously. We will respond to the IVO and implement the necessary measures, but we cannot provide more information at the moment,” writes Roland Säll, director of psychiatry at the Academic Hospital.
The region has until January 8, 2024 to take measures.
