Quicksand is an adaptation of the Swedish novel You Can’t Lie in a Dream by Malin Persson Giolito. The film adaptation is a completed miniseries with six episodes that were first released on Netflix in 2019. It’s about that first ever Swedish original series of the streamer.

But what is Quicksand about? The plot begins with a terrible act of bloodshed at a Stockholm school. 18-year-old Maja survived the rampage, but suddenly becomes the main suspect. As a friend of the perpetrator, did she help him shoot her classmates? Or is she an innocent victim?

While Maja awaits her murder trial in court, Quicksand uses flashbacks to shed light on the beginnings of her love affair with Sonnyboy Sebastian up to his tragic fall.
