– They don’t show up in our systems at all, says Michael Svanström, Kalmar municipality’s building permit manager.
The building permit cases that were being processed or were waiting to be processed when the IT attack against Kalmar municipality took place are not visible in the building permit unit’s system.
– Everyone who submitted building permits in connection with the IT attack should resubmit them via email or paper, especially if you feel it is an urgent matter.
Unusually many building permits received
Right now, the entire building permit unit’s operations are affected, cases that can be handled are limited and the pile of building permit applications that come in is growing ever larger.
– There are an unusually large number of applications that have come in. It is about 40 unhandled building permits that we cannot see, but if you count all the processes that are underway, there are many, many more.
While waiting for the systems to start working again, the unit has started working with alternative solutions to be able to handle the situation.
– We have made our own excel files where we organize everything. But it is far from optimal. We’ll see when we can get started and work as usual again, I can’t answer when that is, says Michael Svanström.
