Several signs now point to lower electricity bills for the rest of the winter. On the electricity exchange Nord Pool, the average price for January appears to be around SEK 1 per kWh or lower in all electricity areas, compared to SEK 2–3 in December.
The January bill, including the electricity company’s mark-up and VAT, therefore looks at the moment to be about half of the December bill. That means just over 3,000 in the south (electricity area 3 and 4) and slightly under 3,000 in the north (electricity area 1 and 2).
In southern Sweden it is even cheaper than last winter’s January, but more than twice as expensive in Norrland.
