After the harsh criticism of the Thorengruppen, new owners and a new board take over the independent school group. Since last winter, a new CEO, Ester Alavei, has been working for the company.
Thorengruppen’s schools around the country have for a number of years been criticized by the School Inspectorate, among other things for lack of quality, and some of the schools have had to close.
Johan Nylén and Petter Samlin join as new owners and will own the company together with the management. They both have experience from investing in and developing businesses, not least in a regulated environment, the company writes in a press release.
“We have to change and do it right. Now we have added a completely new management, with relevant and solid competence both in terms of pedagogy, law but not least operational management”, says Thorengruppen’s new chairman Fredrik Geijer, with experience from public administration – including as municipal manager in Trelleborg and Halmstad.
