Three young men died after being hit by a truck on the E6 outside Båstad on Walpurgis Night. The truck driver is now sentenced to a suspended sentence for causing another person’s death and negligence in traffic.
The fatal crash occurred on the E6 outside Båstad the night before Walpurgis Night. According to the prosecutor, the 27-year-old driver seriously broke into attention and caution by not adjusting the speed just before the accident occurred.
Stationary minibus
The driver drove into a stationary minibus on the highway, where the three young men were next to the car. They were so badly injured that they died.
The minibus had stopped at the roadside because it caught fire. The truck was driving on the bus, which in turn was thrown at the people, the police stated after the accident. Heavy smoke billowed from the car, which the driver should have perceived if the speed had been lower. Prosecutor Malin Granström has claimed this during the trial in Helsingborg District Court.
