Both Mio Isenrot and Yasmine Kindlund had wanted to keep a cold, nice winter for a while longer.
– But it’s the way it is in Umeå, we can count on winters with plus degrees, notes Yasmine Kindlund.
Hear in the clip above what they and other Umeå residents think about the approaching plus degrees – and what they will do when the wolf winter now releases its grip on Västerbotten.
The extreme cold has held its grip on northern Sweden all week – now strong weather conditions and plus temperatures are expected. What do you think about the heat coming back? What is the first thing you do? Share in our chat!

Ove • There is something called the thirteenth day diaper, it will come. Today’s generation probably doesn’t know it. Now it’s all the climate’s fault.

Anne • Hard work for snowshoe guides. Had trips with 33, 35, 37 and 39 minus degrees in the week. Wet snow is now expected, which clumps into ice under the snowshoes. Feels like unnecessarily difficult. Best with 5-15 minus degrees if you can wish for good winter weather =)

Mickey • The first thought is oh no, it will be ice cold! And then bumpy track on pavement and road! Would prefer a stable winter with -10 – -15 degrees and then a stable spring where the snow melts evenly and steadily. Hate this up and down weather – hard to dress, often wind and snow come after a change of weather, and outdoor activities are just forgettable.

Mr. Nilsson • Plus degrees are lousy degrees….

jkl • I want winter. Loves cold.

Christians • Better cold than cycles of thaw and freeze. There is nothing more “fun” than a thin layer of meltwater on top of blank ice. Let the winter be cold until it is over.

Carina • Sad with plus degrees. Gets lame. Forward with the spikes and go slowly.
