It was shortly after midnight on Sunday that the police, emergency services and ambulance were called to an apartment building in Backa in Gothenburg.
The explosion must have been powerful, the front door was blown away and damage was caused on all floors of the house.
– It is a terrible event to have a gate blown up in this way, says Daniel Norlander.
130 gang criminals in Backa
According to the police chief, it is a matter of marking between criminals.
– We know that there is extensive drug sales in Backa and then we know that it creates conflicts between individuals and gangs and it is clear that the incident last night is to mark someone or a few, says Daniel Norlander.
Despite that, the police work on the basis of several different hypotheses.
– We have a close eye on the area, we know that there are 130 gang criminals in Backa. We believe we have a good grasp of who carried out this and who it is aimed at.
Couldn’t you have prevented it then?
– We had no idea that there was an imminent act of violence in this environment.
